2025 Pre-Conference Institute

The 2025 International ACAC Pre-Conference Institute offers members the opportunity to strengthen specific knowledge sets and professional relationships in a smaller, more intentional setting before the conference begins.

The Institute is led by knowledgeable faculty with years of experience and a passion for sharing. You can choose to attend one of two streams, depending on your level of experience in the field. If you are interested, read more below!

2025 Pre-Conference Institute Streams

New Professionals

0-3 years in current role

This Institute is designed for members new to their role in international admissions who wish to deepen their skill sets, knowledge bases, and professional networks.

Session Topics Include:

  • Advocating for and supporting students
  • Crafting or reading recommendation letters & application essays/personal statements
  • Creating school profiles and transcripts or reviewing them
  • Managing and reporting data
  • Planning for the year for school counselors and admissions staff

Mid-Career Professionals

3+ years in current role

This Institute is designed for members with substantial experience in international admissions who wish to augment their professional practice in a tailored learning setting. 

Session Topics Include:

  • Advocating for and supporting students
  • Building effective teams
  • Creating new professional opportunities
  • Presenting yourself professionally
  • Top issues in the profession

Registration for the Pre-Conference Institute costs an amount additional to your standard conference registration fee.

Pre-Conference Institute Registration

The Pre-Conference Institute is offered to International ACAC Annual Conference attendees ​only. Members must register for the Institute as part of their conference registration. In order to maintain the benefits of a more intimate pre-conference experience, registration capacity is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Please note: While some content-based sessions will be pre-recorded for viewing prior to arrival, the Institute will take place fully in-person beginning Monday morning at Northeastern University. Participants should plan to arrive in Boston on Sunday, July 13.
